YOUTH

Riding Programs

We provide English riding lessons for youth and children (5 and up) of all riding levels in the disciplines of English Dressage, Jumping and Cross-Country.  We have a great team of instructors ready to help your youth/ child reach their goals.  Whether they are just beginning or have years of experience, we offer programs to meet all skill and experience levels in a supportive program focused on education, community and fun.  We have the experience, skill and knowledge to help your young rider meet all their riding aspirations including going to international competitions.

We have a special LEARN to Ride program for beginning riders.  As riders improve in their skill, they are moved to different ability levels in jumping and dressage.  Beginner riders need to expect that some lessons, or portions of lessons, will be on ground to learn about horsemanship and equine care.

We can provide a lesson horse, or you are welcome to use your own.  Lease options are also available.

Becoming a Sandridge kid can mean making life long friends and gaining a barn family.  We connect both on and off the horse : )

EACH LESSON:

is approximately a 2+ hour session which is as follows:

  • 45-60 minutes for you (and/or your child) to catch, groom & tack up your horse

  • 1 hour lesson (the scheduled lesson time)

  • 30-60 minutes to untack, groom, clean tack, turn out your horse and do your barn chores (sweeping, cleaning tack)

Please note:  online inquiries do not mean you are committing to our lesson program.  We would love to meet you and your young rider first!  Your online inquiry just lets us know you would like to learn more about our programs and book a farm tour to see if we are a good fit for your child.

Pre-lesson preparations need to start at minimum 30 minutes or more, depending on your speed and skill of horse preparation.  Riders are also expected to stay after the lesson to complete their barn chores of sweeping and cleaning tack no matter how long it takes to complete.
