LESSONS for

Intermediate & Advanced Riders

Thank you for reviewing the Sandridge Stables Riding Programs.  We are proud to bring you excellence in instruction with the most up-to-date coaches and standards in a top-quality facility with a focus on classical education and rider safety.  All instructors of intermediate and advanced riders at Sandridge Stables are certified through Equestrian Canada, the national governing body for equestrian sport in Canada and the National Coaching Certification Program, which governs coaching and certification standards for all amateur sport in Canada.  This ensures students have the best possible instruction with specific attention to safety and the learning progression.  Standards under this program are comparable to those in other equestrian countries such as England, Germany, the Netherlands and the U.S.  Tricia Dahms, a certified Equestrian Canada High-Performance coach, is the primary coach of our intermediate and advanced riders.

Regular Lesson Program

The primary focus of Sandridge Stables is on learning the disciplines of eventing (dressage, jumping and cross-country).  We teach correct riding along with a classical approach to understanding the horse and riding with harmony.  Students are NOT required to show, however, if you would like to enter into the world of showing we work with you to create a plan for your development.  We do offer a competitive program for riders serious about showing.

Either a private riding assessment or a tryout lesson may be needed to determine optimal placement.  We will discuss with you what the best option may be for you and your needs.

Lessons are one hour of learning.  Grooming and tacking are not part of the scheduled lesson time.  Both flat/dressage and jumping lessons at all skill levels are available.  You can either do a single lesson per week or attend lessons twice a week. Additionally, for an extra fee, riders who lease or own their own horses can sign up for on and off-site cross country clinics in the late spring, summer and early fall.

School horses are available, or you are welcome to bring your own horse for all lessons.  We also have options to lease horses.
