A native Albertan, Tricia has extensive experience and has ridden successfully at the very highest levels of the sport. Although she has traveled far and wide to train and compete, she is the only Alberta rider to have ever made the Canadian Team and stayed in Alberta.
She has had numerous competitive successes on many different horses over the years. With her Advanced horse, Calling All Cars, she has ridden at the Advanced and International level for 5 years. Some of her favorite competitive highlights include:
- Pan American Games - 5th in Dressage and 10th overall.
The 1999 Kentucky, Rolex CCI*** - 16th
1999 Pine Top – Advanced – 2nd
2001 Pine Top (Thompson, Georgia)- Advanced - 1st
Sharpton Open Intermediate (Altoona, Florida) - won twice in three years
Pacific Challenge Championships - Preliminary- (with My Beau) - 2 nd
Basingstoke Intermediate – 1st
Tricia has trained many different horses from their first cross rails to the upper levels of the sport including:
Calling All Cars - Calling All Cars, aka Carson is now retired on the farm at Sherwood Park. He was Tricia's partner in International competition for 6 years. He has been the horse of a lifetime. Bold and careful, he was a phenomenal jumper, a wonderful dressage horse and rarely ever had a rail down in stadium
My Beau - Ridden and trained by Tricia to the Advanced and CCI** level, My Beau is currently being ridden by Amy Tryon...who partnered him to many prestigious wins and placings including a 7th at the renowned Badminton International Horse Trials and was named to the Athens Olympic Team for the U.S. He was purchased from the Northlands track in Edmonton as a 4 year old and was a favorite mount until he was sold to the U.S.
She owns and operates Sandridge Stables and coaches both adults and young riders, placing a strong emphasis on correct classic al training for both, and developing individual programs to bring out their best.
In addition to coaching, she judges, teaches clinics and has recently entered the field of course designing. The four new courses at the Thompson Country Horse Trials were all designed by Tricia, and she has recently designed the new cross-country courses at Beaumont
